Brian R. Hurley
Chief Executive Officer

Brian Hurley is Chief Executive Officer for Martin, Blanck & Associates, a federal health services consulting firm, based in Falls Church, VA.  Hurley was named Chief Operating Officer for Martin, Blanck & Associates in January 2004, and then CEO in November 2004.  Hurley is responsible for the overall strategic planning for this small, disabled, veteran-owned federal health consulting firm.  He leads the business planning efforts, partner and associate recruitment, retention and external communications.  Hurley also leads new business development initiatives, with major responsibilities in the federal health sector – the Department of Defense, Department of Veterans Affairs, and for commercial sector clients. 

Prior to joining Martin, Blanck & Associates, Hurley served as Special Assistant to the Assistant Secretary of Defense (Health Affairs) from October 2000 until January 2004 where his responsibilities included --  coordinating the senior management policy review process and  developing  communications strategies for major Military Health Systems initiatives.  During this period, Hurley also directly advised the senior medical official in the Department of Defense on the service delivery design, business decision and resource requirements, communications, marketing, and community outreach activities in support of $4 billion new appropriation to provide new health & pharmacy benefits for 1.5 million Medicare-eligible, military beneficiaries. 

Hurley is a retired US Air Force Medical Service Corps officer with assignments as a senior health policy analyst at the Pentagon; Director of Operations in the TRICARE Europe office at Ramstein Air Base, Germany; and other hospital and staff assignments the Air Force Surgeon General’s Office, Bolling Air Force Base, DC; Andrews AFB, Maryland, and Tyndall AFB, Florida. 

Hurley holds a master’s degree in health policy and administration from The George Washington University, and a bachelor’s degree in health administration from The Pennsylvania State University.
